What was announced
On August 27 Taco Bell announced You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast, made with Olivia Rodrigo — the first pink version of Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Taco Bell describes it as combining Baja Blast's signature tropical lime flavor with pink lemonade notes. It went on sale August 29 at Live Mas Cafes in California, Nevada and Texas, reaches participating Taco Bell restaurants nationwide on September 24 for a limited time, and arrives at participating Canadian locations on October 1. Why it matters
The staged rollout is the part worth tracking. What Taco Bell announced
Taco Bell announced the drink on August 27 from Irvine, California. It calls the drink You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast and describes it as blending Mountain Dew Baja Blast's signature tropical lime flavor with pink lemonade notes — the first pink version of the drink the company has sold.
The name and the packaging both come from Olivia Rodrigo's album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love. Taco Bell says the collaboration also covers limited-edition merchandise and an activation at Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival.
Where you can buy it, and when
The rollout runs in three stages, and only the first of them has happened.
Since August 29 the drink has been sold at Live Mas Cafes, Taco Bell's beverage-focused format, at locations in California, Nevada and Texas — Southern California, Las Vegas, Dallas and Houston are the markets Taco Bell names. Taco Bell describes Live Mas Cafe as its home for beverage innovation, and says this is one of the first drinks to debut there before going to the wider menu.
On September 24 it goes to participating Taco Bell restaurants nationwide, for a limited time. Participating locations in Canada follow on October 1.
One thing worth knowing before September 24: the Freeze version is not part of the nationwide launch. Taco Bell says the You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast Freeze is available exclusively at Live Mas Cafes, so the frozen version stays a trip-to-a-specific-store item even after the drink itself is everywhere.
