Taco Bell's Four New Horchata Drinks Are Café-Only — and Only Two of Them Reach the Rest of the Country, on December 10

Published Oct 16, 2026Updated Oct 23, 2026Officially confirmed

Taco Bell added four horchata drinks to the Live Más Café menu on October 15, 2026, at published prices from $4.19 to $5.29, and they are sold only at the 39 Live Más Café locations — not at Taco Bell restaurants generally. Two of the four, the Strawberry and Vanilla Spiced Horchata Refrescas, join menus nationwide on December 10 along with a new Vanilla Spiced Horchata Freeze.

  • The West Lafayette Café's announced October 22 opening date has passed with no confirmation from Taco Bell that it opened.

What was announced

On October 15, 2026 Taco Bell announced four horchata drinks for its Live Más Café menu — the Purple Horchata Chiller, the Chocolate Horchata Cold Brew Float, the Strawberry Horchata Refresca and the Vanilla Spiced Horchata Refresca — with prices for each size, available that day at Live Más Café locations only. In the same announcement it said the two Refrescas and a new Vanilla Spiced Horchata Freeze join Taco Bell menus nationwide on December 10 for a limited time, and it named new Café openings in the Indianapolis area, Southern California and Las Vegas.

Why it matters

Taco Bell published a price for every size of every drink, which it often does not do, and it drew a line most of the coverage does not: four drinks at the Cafés now, three on the national menu in December, and no stated future for the other two. For anyone outside the five markets with a Live Más Café, December 10 is the only date on this page that matters.

What Taco Bell announced

Taco Bell said on October 15, 2026, from Irvine, California, that it was putting four horchata drinks on the Live Más Café menu that day, and that it was opening Cafés in several new markets.

The announcement bundles two things that are easy to run together: a drinks launch that is restricted to one small group of restaurants, and a December date on which part of that lineup stops being restricted. Taco Bell is explicit about which drinks are which, and the distinction is the single most useful fact on this page.

The four drinks, with the prices Taco Bell published

Taco Bell describes the Purple Horchata Chiller as a frozen drink built on a vanilla ice cream Chiller base with horchata syrup, whipped cream and a purple horchata syrup drizzle. It lists it at $4.19 for a small and $4.59 for a medium.

The Chocolate Horchata Cold Brew Float is described by the company as Cold Brew under a blended Chiller base with horchata syrup and churro crumbles, finished with a dark chocolate syrup carrying cinnamon notes. It is the most expensive of the four at $4.79 small and $5.29 medium.

The Strawberry Horchata Refresca, which Taco Bell says it first previewed at Live Más LIVE 2026, is described as a vanilla-spiced horchata with a wild strawberry swirl and freeze-dried strawberry pieces, served over ice. The Vanilla Spiced Horchata Refresca is described by Taco Bell as the classic take on the flavour — creamy, sweet and vanilla-spiced, with hints of cinnamon. Both Refrescas are listed at $4.19 medium and $4.59 large.

Every price above is Taco Bell's own published figure. The company adds that prices, hours and participation vary by restaurant, that taxes are extra, and that prices are higher with delivery.

What actually goes nationwide on December 10 — and what does not

Taco Bell states that on December 10 the Strawberry Horchata Refresca and the Vanilla Spiced Horchata Refresca join Taco Bell menus nationwide for a limited time, together with a new Vanilla Spiced Horchata Freeze.

That is three drinks, two of which are already on sale at Cafés and one of which is not on sale anywhere yet. The Freeze is new to the December announcement and Taco Bell gives no price for it.

The two drinks left out are the Purple Horchata Chiller and the Chocolate Horchata Cold Brew Float. Taco Bell does not say they are coming to the wider menu, and it does not say they are not. As things stand today the only way to buy either is at a Live Más Café.

Where the 39 Cafés are, and the ones opening next

Taco Bell puts the current Live Más Café count at 39 locations across Southern California, Houston, Dallas, Indiana and Las Vegas.

The expansion named in the same announcement is specific in places and vague in others. The Indianapolis area gets three: two company-owned and one run by new franchise partner KMAC Enterprises. The first has a date and an address — a grand opening on Thursday, October 22 at 252 E State Street in West Lafayette — with Greenfield and Muncie following before the end of 2026.

In Southern California a Café opens at Century City Mall, with Irvine and Tustin planned later this year; none of the three carries a date. In Las Vegas, Taco Bell says a flagship opens later this fall in a shipping container next to the Las Vegas Taco Bell Cantina at 3717 S Las Vegas Blvd Ste 140-A, operated with franchise partner Diversified Restaurant Group, and that it will carry more than 20 specialty beverages plus Vegas-exclusive spiked drinks and merchandise.

Checked again on October 23, 2026: the West Lafayette grand-opening date Taco Bell gave has now passed, and neither Taco Bell nor any outlet has published anything confirming the Café opened on the day. Taco Bell's locations site returns no page for it. Treat the October 22 date as the date Taco Bell announced rather than as a confirmed opening until one of those sources says otherwise.

No end date, for any of them

Taco Bell has not announced a last day for the four Café drinks or for the three going nationwide in December. Its wording is the standard one: at participating locations for a limited time only, while supplies last.

That phrasing is a limited run without a deadline, which is how most Taco Bell beverage items have ended this year — quietly, with the end date discoverable only after the fact. This page will be re-checked and updated if a last day is named.

Re-checked October 23, 2026 against the same announcement: there is still no last day for any of the five drinks. The only duration wording Taco Bell uses is "for a limited time" and, in the footnote, "while supplies last".
