What it is
On September 22, 2026, from Batavia, Illinois, ALDI announced its first-ever collection of ready-made meals: seven fresh, refrigerated, ready-to-heat dishes comprising five single-serve options — Beef Bolognese Spaghetti, Beef Brisket with White Mac & Cheese, Butter Chicken & Rice, Chicken Burrito Bowl and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo — and two family-size options, Chicken and Bacon Mac n' Cheese and Meat Lovers Pizza Bake. ALDI stated pricing as bands: single-serve under $8 and family-size under $15. The company said the collection begins rolling out in select ALDI markets in early October 2026, adds markets through the autumn, and is expected to be available nationwide by January 2027, stocked in the refrigerated meals section near the front entrance. ALDI stated protein content of at least 30 grams per single-serve meal, up to 46, and at least 16 grams per family-size serving, up to 22, and said new meals will arrive as ALDI Finds every month over the next year. The meals are supplied by Kitchen Food Company.
Why it’s getting attention
ALDI has not sold its own ready-made meals in the U.S. before, so this is a category entry rather than another seasonal drop — and it lands in the aisle where convenience normally carries a premium the chain built its name on not charging. The announcement is also unusually complete for a grocery launch: all seven meals named, price bands stated, protein figures and heating times given. What it withholds is the part shoppers will feel first, which markets get them in early October, and that staged rollout is what this page will follow.
All seven meals
ALDI named the full collection in the announcement, which is not always the case with a grocery launch. Five are single-serve, priced under $8:
Beef Bolognese Spaghetti; Beef Brisket with White Mac & Cheese; Butter Chicken & Rice; Chicken Burrito Bowl; Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo.
Two are family-size, priced under $15:
Chicken and Bacon Mac n' Cheese; Meat Lovers Pizza Bake.
The company lists chicken breast, smoked beef brisket, real cheeses and made-from-scratch sauces among the ingredients, and says the meals are fresh rather than frozen.
The prices are ceilings, not figures
ALDI stated price bands rather than per-item prices: under $8 for each single-serve meal and under $15 for each family-size one. That is the whole of what the company published, so no individual meal on this page carries a price of its own, and none will until ALDI names one.
The dates are similarly bounded. The release says the collection begins rolling out in select ALDI markets in early October 2026, adds markets through the autumn, and is expected nationwide by January 2027. "Early October" is as precise as the company has been; no first day was given, and no list of which markets go first.
That staged rollout is the thing to watch. A shopper in a late market can read an accurate national launch date and still find nothing on the shelf, which is a gap this page will track rather than paper over.
What the line actually is, and where to find it
These are refrigerated heat-and-eat trays, not frozen dinners. ALDI says they sit in the refrigerated meals section near the front entrance of the store, which is a different aisle from where a shopper would look for frozen meals.
The company gives heating times: the single-serve trays go in the microwave with the film left on and unpierced, between 3.5 and 4.5 minutes depending on the meal, then stand for a minute. The company notes the packaging is expected to balloon in the microwave. Family-size meals are oven-only at 350°F — covered with foil for 30 minutes, then uncovered for another 10.
ALDI says single-serve meals deliver at least 30 grams of protein and up to 46, and family-size servings at least 16 and up to 22.
Why ALDI is entering this category now
This is a first for ALDI in the U.S., and it puts the chain into a category built on convenience rather than on the low prices it usually competes on.
The company's own framing is the shopper-behaviour one: the release cites a figure that 61% of Americans call convenience a top purchase consideration. Joan Kavanaugh, Vice President of National Buying at ALDI U.S., said in the announcement that shoppers "are looking for meals that fit into busy lives without sacrificing quality or stretching their budgets" and that the chain was "thoughtful about how we entered this category."
The meals are supplied by Kitchen Food Company. Terry Jackson, its Head of Food, said in the announcement that hundreds of recipes were tested during development.
The commitment does not stop at seven. ALDI says new meals will arrive as ALDI Finds every month for the next year — which, given ALDI Finds are by definition limited runs, means the line's permanent core and its rotating additions will behave differently on the shelf.
Common questions
- When do ALDI's ready-made meals come out?
- Select ALDI markets get them in early October 2026, with more markets through the autumn. ALDI expects the full collection nationwide by January 2027. The company has not named a first day or which markets go first.
- How much do ALDI's ready-made meals cost?
- ALDI stated bands rather than prices: single-serve meals under $8 and family-size meals under $15. No per-meal price has been published.
- What are the seven ALDI ready-made meals?
- Single-serve: Beef Bolognese Spaghetti, Beef Brisket with White Mac & Cheese, Butter Chicken & Rice, Chicken Burrito Bowl, and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. Family-size: Chicken and Bacon Mac n' Cheese and Meat Lovers Pizza Bake.
- Are ALDI's ready-made meals frozen?
- No. ALDI says they are fresh and never frozen, sold refrigerated in heat-and-eat trays, and stocked in the refrigerated meals section near the front entrance.
- How long do you heat them?
- ALDI gives 3.5 to 4.5 minutes in the microwave for the single-serve trays depending on the meal, film left on, then one minute standing. Family-size meals bake at 350°F for 30 minutes covered plus 10 uncovered.
- Is this a limited-time line?
- The seven-meal collection is a permanent addition rather than a limited run, and no end date has been announced. Separately, ALDI says additional meals will appear as ALDI Finds each month for the next year, and ALDI Finds are limited runs by design.
