Wendy's Sonic the Hedgehog Kids' Meal Is Over — Halloween's Frosty Frights Replaced It

Until it was taken down, Wendy's Kids' Meal page carried two different end dates for the same promotion. Its FAQ gave the window as 7/20/26–9/13/26, while supplies last. The banner at the top of the same page gave 7/20/26 to 9/14/26. Nothing on the page reconciled them, and both were still printed there when this page was last checked on September 14, 2026.

Checked again on September 15, 2026, both dates and the promotion itself are gone. The page now presents the Frosty Frights Halloween figures as the toy in every Kids' Meal. That is the clearest signal a company gives that a run is finished: not an announcement, but the item disappearing from its own product page.

Of the two dates Wendy's published, September 13, 2026 is the one recorded here as the last day. That began as a cautious choice — it is the earlier of the two, and turning up on the 14th expecting cards after the run closed on the 13th costs a reader the trip while the reverse costs nothing. Wendy's has since settled it in its own words. Re-read on October 18, 2026, the same page now states “The Frosty Frights Kids' Meal is available 9/14/26–11/01/26, while supplies last.” A replacement promotion starting on September 14 leaves September 13 as the last Sonic day, which is what this page had recorded.

The announcement never settled it either. When Wendy's introduced the promotion on July 20 it described it as "available now through early September" and named no date at all. September 13 is not what most readers would call early September, so the two statements were never interchangeable.

All of these statements are Wendy's own; none is a report about Wendy's.

Wendy's Kids' Meal page now promotes Frosty Frights: 12 collectible figures described as six characters plus a variant of each, named Numb Chuck, E.A.T., Sir Choc-O-Lot, Shiver Wing, Taran Chilla and Cold Foot. Wendy's describes them as available with every Kids' Meal purchase, and offers a book instead for children aged three and under. Re-read on October 18, 2026, Wendy's now publishes the window too: “The Frosty Frights Kids' Meal is available 9/14/26–11/01/26, while supplies last.” So the replacement has a stated last day of November 1, 2026 — which the Sonic run never got, and which is also what dates Sonic's own ending.

The page also carries a teaser for whatever follows Halloween, saying dragons, trolls and griffins are coming soon to Wendy's Kids' Meals. No date is given for that one.

The Kids' Meal itself did not change: the same choice of 2-piece tenders, 4-piece nuggets, hamburger or cheeseburger, with fries or apple bites and a kids' drink.

Both of Wendy's statements carried "while supplies last". For a collectible promotion that qualifier is the operative one: the cards were a finite print run distributed across restaurants, and a given location stopped giving them out when its allocation was gone, whatever the calendar said.

So September 13 was the last date Wendy's had scheduled, not a guarantee that any particular restaurant still had cards that day. Wendy's also noted that Kids' Meal collectibles may vary, which is the company's way of saying you do not choose your case.

The Kids' Meal was built on a choice of 2-piece chicken tenders, 4-piece chicken nuggets, a hamburger or a cheeseburger, with Jr. Hot & Crispy Fries or apple bites and a kids' drink.

The collectible was a set of Sonic the Hedgehog trading cards tied to the franchise's 35th anniversary. Each meal came with one of seven character card cases, and each case held five cards — 35 cards in total across the full set. The seven cases were Sonic the Hedgehog, Amy Rose, Miles "Tails" Prower, Silver the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna, Shadow the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat.

It was sold at participating US Wendy's restaurants and through the Wendy's app or Wendys.com.

Wendy's has not said. Neither the announcement nor the Kids' Meal page gave a reason, and a scheduled end date on a licensed promotion does not need one — a fixed run is how these are normally sold.

This page will not offer an explanation the company has not given.
