Chipotle says active-duty U.S. service members and veterans can get free chips and their choice of guacamole, Queso Blanco or salsa with a $5 in-restaurant purchase, all day on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. It is a different offer from 2025, when Chipotle gave a free second entree between 4 and 8 p.m.

What was announced
Chipotle announced a Veterans Day offer for active-duty U.S. service members and veterans: free chips and their choice of guacamole, Queso Blanco or salsa with a purchase of at least $5, available all day on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at participating U.S. restaurants and in-restaurant only. Guests may choose Chipotle's classic chips or its new Chili Lime Chips, must show valid proof of military or veteran status at checkout, and are limited to one free regular-size item. Chipotle is separately featuring the USO in its Round Up for Real Change program from November 9 through November 15, 2026.
Why it matters
Chipotle has changed the shape of this offer from one year to the next, which is the part a single press release does not tell you. The 2025 version was a free second entree in a four-hour evening window with no dollar minimum; the 2026 version is a free side with a $5 minimum, available all day. Anyone planning around last year's terms would arrive at the wrong time expecting the wrong thing, and the all-day window is a genuine improvement for people who cannot get to a restaurant between 4 and 8 p.m.
What Chipotle is offering
Chipotle announced a Veterans Day offer giving active-duty U.S. service members and veterans free chips and their choice of guacamole, Queso Blanco or salsa with a $5 purchase. Chipotle says guests can choose between its classic chips and its new Chili Lime Chips.
The offer is available all day on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at participating Chipotle restaurants in the U.S. The fine print narrows that to business hours, and makes it in-restaurant only.
What you need to bring, and what does not count
Eligible guests must show valid proof of military or veteran status at checkout. Chipotle lists the accepted documents as a valid military ID, a VA-issued veteran ID or health ID, a state-issued ID with a Veteran designation, or discharge paperwork.
The terms require a purchase of at least $5, not counting the free item, taxes or tips. The offer is valid for one free regular-size item, and Chipotle says it may be collected only by the customer holding the government-issued military ID.
It is redeemable in-restaurant only, at participating U.S. locations, and subject to availability. Chipotle says it is not valid for catering, mobile, online or delivery orders, and may not be combined with other coupons, promotions or special offers. Purchased items still earn Chipotle Rewards points.
This is not the same offer as last year
Anyone going on memory will get this wrong. In 2025, Chipotle's Veterans Day offer was an entree deal: guests who ordered an entree in-restaurant and presented a valid military ID received a second entree free. That ran on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. local time, covered bowls, burritos, salads and tacos, and was limited to five free entree items per check, each paired with a paid entree of equal or greater value.
For 2026 the structure is different in three ways. The free item is chips and a dip rather than an entree. It runs all day rather than in a four-hour evening window. And it carries a $5 minimum purchase, where the 2025 version required a paid entree instead.
The 2025 offer was also open to "all guests with a valid military ID"; the 2026 release frames eligibility as active-duty U.S. service members and veterans with valid proof of eligibility. Both years were in-restaurant only and both excluded catering, mobile, online and delivery orders.
A note on the announcement's own date
Chipotle's newsroom is internally inconsistent about when it published this. The featured-content index lists the item as October 20, 2026, while the release body carries the dateline "NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., November 5, 2026" — a date that had not yet arrived when this page was written.
Both surfaces agree on the thing that matters to a reader: the offer is on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. This page uses that date, and notes the discrepancy rather than quietly picking one.
The USO round-up runs longer than the offer
Alongside the one-day offer, Chipotle is featuring the USO in its Round Up for Real Change program, where guests can round up their total to the next highest dollar and donate the difference. Chipotle says that runs from Monday, November 9 through Sunday, November 15, 2026.
That window has moved year to year: in 2025 the round-up ran Tuesday, November 11 through Sunday, November 16. It is a donation option rather than a discount, and it is not limited to military guests.
