What was announced
On August 12 Chick-fil-A announced that Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches would go on sale nationwide from August 24, in a breakfast version served until 10:30 a.m. and a larger entree version served from 10:30 a.m. to close. The company's product FAQ puts the last day at November 14. Two S'mores drinks launch alongside them.
Why it matters
Chick-fil-A publishing an end date at all is the interesting part. Most chains announce a limited-time item and leave the finish line unstated, which makes it impossible to tell a short run from a soft permanent addition. Here the window is fixed at twelve weeks and the company has said so up front.
What is in the sandwich
Chick-fil-A describes both versions as maple-flavoured waffles with a chicken filet, three strips of applewood smoked bacon and a honey butter spread, served warm with a side of syrup. The filet can be Original, Spicy or Grilled.
The difference between the two is size. The breakfast sandwich uses a smaller filet and waffle; the entree version uses a larger one.
The hours matter more than usual here
This is an all-day item served in two different forms, which is unusual for the chain. The breakfast sandwich runs from opening until 10:30 a.m. and the entree version from 10:30 a.m. to close. Ordering the same thing at 10:15 and 10:45 gets you different sandwiches.
Two S'mores drinks land the same day
The S'mores Milkshake is Chick-fil-A's Icedream hand-spun with chocolate shortbread and graham cracker crumbles, marshmallow-flavoured syrup and marshmallow-flavoured whipped topping. The S'mores Frosted Coffee is cold-brewed coffee with marshmallow-flavoured syrup and Icedream mixed with the same chocolate shortbread and graham crumbles.
This was tested before
Chick-fil-A says the nationwide launch follows a limited-time test in 2025, and attributes the rollout to the response in those test markets. The company is running the items under a year-long campaign it calls Newstalgia, which it has also used for the Frosted Sodas and Floats that became permanent.
